Report On World Cancer Day 2024
Event Overview

The Department of Surgical and Medical Oncology organized an intra-college workshop on World Cancer Day 2024 and Cancer Updates 2024. The event took place on February 5th from 8:30 am to 1 pm. The workshop aimed to educate and update MBBS undergraduates and postgraduates on the latest developments in the field of oncology.

Participant Engagement

A total of 114 students actively participated in the workshop. To encourage engagement, a quiz focusing on recent cancer updates was conducted, with winners receiving recognition for their knowledge.

Educational Sessions

Distinguished guest speakers, including Radiation Oncologists, Gastroenterologists, and Anesthesiologists, delivered informative lectures on World Cancer Day and provided insights into the latest advancements in cancer research and treatment. Students benefitted significantly from these sessions, gaining valuable knowledge and insights into the current landscape of oncology.

Prize Distribution

Following the educational sessions, prizes were distributed to the winners of the quiz competition, further motivating student participation and involvement in the event.

“WORLD CANCER DAY 2022 CELEBRATION” Theme of this year: “CLOSE THE CARE GAP”

The Department of Surgical Oncology & Clinical Oncology conducted CME Programme -“Recent updates in Management of Breast Cancer” in via of World Cancer Day 2022.

The event was conducted on 3rd February 2022 from 9 am – 12 pm and was attended by dignitaries and more than 100 Medical students (UG & PG) from various Medical Colleges.

A Quiz competition was also conducted for PG students & Interns at the end of the programme & winners received prizes from the Chief Guest.

Conclusion and Feedback

The workshop provided an excellent platform for both undergraduate and postgraduate students to commemorate World Cancer Day and stay updated on the latest developments in cancer research and treatment for the year 2024. Positive feedback was received from the participants, highlighting the event’s value in enhancing their understanding of oncology and its significance in healthcare.

Conclusion

Overall, the workshop was a resounding success, fostering learning, engagement, and awareness among future medical professionals regarding the ongoing battle against cancer.
